Old table saws come in three kinds. Cabinet saws like the Unisaw and Powermatic 66 hide the motor in a closed base and tilt the arbor, contractor saws hang the motor off the back of an open stand, and early bench saws like Delta's Homecraft 34-160 tilt the table instead of the blade. The big Olivers go further and build the motor onto the arbor itself. Whatever the kind, check the motor plate first, because a three-phase saw needs a VFD or a converter at home. Then look for the fence and rails, the guard and splitter, the miter gauge and the wings, which are the parts that go missing. Most home-shop saws take ordinary 10 in blades on a 5/8 in arbor.
