Delta · Shaper · 2000s (manual dated 2002)
The 43-355 is Delta's small shaper. The heavy-duty Delta shapers carry other numbers, from the 43-205 with its Unisaw-style cabinet to the 43-370s. This one dates from the 2000s, when Delta was building in Jackson, Tennessee, and it's sized for a home shop. It has an 18 x 30 in cast-iron table, a double-ended spindle with 1/2 in on one end and 3/4 in on the other, two speeds and a reversing switch, all wired for 120 V. That puts it somewhere between a router table and a real shaper. With its fence and guard, a 43-355 runs moulding cutters on a proper cast-iron table and still plugs into an ordinary outlet.

Should come with it
Hard to find if missing
Check the listing photos against these lists, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing fence, guard or motor should come off the price.
Missing fences and guards are common on used shapers. Check that the reversing switch works and the spindle turns true.
New to old iron? How to check a used woodworking machine covers runout, the table, bearings and the parts that go missing, and dating old iron by serial number shows how to tell what year a machine was made.
Buying guide
Drive belts are all that's listed for the 43-355 at the moment, so we have no shaper price yet. Fences and spindle guards are what these usually lose, so look for both, along with the double-ended spindle. Ask for a short video of the reversing switch working, too.
